Jurassic World Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards, launched a new chapter for the dinosaur franchise in the summer of 2025, moving away from the previous trilogy's cast to establish a fresh storyline. Scarlett Johansson leads the ensemble.
The film aims to return the series to its adventure-thriller roots, following a new group of characters into remote, dinosaur-inhabited territory. Edwards, known for his work on large-scale genre films, brought a distinct visual sensibility to the long-running property.
As one of Universal's tentpole summer releases, Rebirth sought to demonstrate that the Jurassic brand still had commercial life well beyond its original story.
