Netflix Reveals First Look at 2027 Documentary “Loha: Life in the Wilderness”

Netflix has shared the first details and exclusive first-look images from its upcoming 2027 documentary Loha: Life in the Wilderness, giving audiences an intimate look at one of the wild's most devoted mothers.
The film follows a mother red panda named Loha as she navigates the misty bamboo forests and rugged mountain slopes of the Eastern Himalayas, raising her newborn cubs and tirelessly fending for them through every challenge so the entire family can survive.
Viewers will witness the full arc of her journey — from the vulnerable early days of caring for her tiny, dependent cubs to the demanding task of teaching them to climb, forage, and eventually stand on their own in a harsh wilderness.
In keeping with Netflix's growing slate of immersive wildlife storytelling, Loha: Life in the Wilderness will premiere globally on Earth Day 2027 and stream exclusively on Netflix. Earlier this year Netflix released the critically praised Echoes of the Reef, which introduced viewers to the vibrant underwater world of a young sea turtle. Loha continues that tradition of focusing on a single animal's extraordinary story of resilience and care amid breathtaking natural landscapes.
Netflix has also greenlit a companion short series exploring the conservation efforts protecting red panda habitats and the critical role of mothers in the species' survival. Their nature division continues to expand, with additional animal-focused projects already in production for 2028. In the meantime, viewers can currently stream previous wildlife hits including Our Planet and Night on Earth while awaiting Loha's remarkable journey as a mother.
